Compare DAZL Player

Consider the following when comparing DAZL Player to other media players.

IT'S A SOFTWARE PLAYER

DAZL Player software turns a Windows system into an audio/video server, which may be cheaper than installing hardware media players. Any number of DAZL Player instances may be run on a licensed system, with each instance responsible for playing a specific media file. To play more clips simply run more instances. Hardware media players on the other hand can be very limited in how much media they can play, especially at the same time. It boils down to one's needs and the relative cost/availability of another Windows PC. A spare one might be lying around, or DAZL Player could be run on the DAZL system itself.

IT'S A REMOTE PLAYER

It is often desirable to place media players close to the locations they serve. Video monitor and speaker hookup are easier with shorter cable runs. DAZL Player is controlled using UDP messaging over IP, which means it can be used anywhere a networked PC can.

IT'S A DAZL-INTEGRATED PLAYER

Not only does DAZL Player provide full control over media playback, it also provides seamless integration with DAZL show operations (start, stop, emergency-stop, etc.) Ease of integration is a key difference when comparing DAZL Player to other solutions.

BRING-TO-FRONT VIDEO MIXING

When a video clip is triggered, DAZL Player automatically brings its window to the front. This behavior can be used to seamlessly mix video clips on the fly.

VIDEO TIME DISPLAY

Video playback time (counting up or down) can be displayed, and is useful in escape rooms and other applications. Format and appearance are configurable.
